What is JEE Main?
JEE Main is one of the most important national-level entrance exams in India, conducted by the National Testing Agency. It serves as the gateway for admission into top engineering institutes such as NITs, IIITs, and various government-funded colleges. It also acts as the eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is necessary for admission into IITs.
A candidate can sit for JEE Main for a maximum of six occasions in three years, with two attempts per year. Both sessions count — your best score is considered.
What a good JEE Main rank opens up:
- IITs (via JEE Advanced)
- NITs
