What is IMU CET?
The Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET) is a national-level online entrance exam conducted by the Indian Maritime University. It is the mandatory gateway for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate maritime programs across IMU’s five campuses in Cochin, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, and Visakhapatnam — and all DGS-approved Maritime Training Institutes across India.
The IMU CET 2026 exam is scheduled for 24 May 2026. The exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions for UG and Diploma programs, and 120 questions for PG courses, to be completed in 180 minutes. There is a negative marking of -0.25 marks for every wrong answer — which means accuracy matters just as much as speed.
Courses you can pursue:
- B.Sc Nautical Science
- B.Tech Marine Engineering
- Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS)
- Naval Architecture
- Maritime Management MBA
